SOY PROTEIN: Soybean seeds contain 37% dry weight proteins, as well as vitamins (A, B1, B2, D, E) and minerals. They also contain LECITHIN, a complex of phospholipids, used for the treatment of the cardiovascular system and to rebalance the levels of cholesterol in the blood: it allows to rebalance the HDL / LDL ratio and the solubilization and transport of cholesterol in the blood. Of great interest are the ISOFLAVONES, molecules that mimic the action of estrogens (female hormones). GINGKO BILOBA : The active components of the plant are FLAVONGLYCOSIDES. These molecules act as ANTIOXIDANTS, often called scavengers, due to the fact that they eliminate free radicals from the body. The action of the plant is also due to the TERPENIC LATTONS, which act synergistically with the other principles. Ginkgo therefore has properties both on the circulatory system and on the central nervous system. On the circulatory system it acts in the peripheral circulation (limbs) and on cerebral circulatory insufficiency. It also thins the blood, prevents the formation of plaques, decreases platelet aggregation, gives tone to the capillaries and venules: all this allows a better venous return. In the nervous system it has been shown that Ginkgo protects neurons: it increases their survival and supports their regeneration. Studies have shown that, given to patients with Azlheimer, it improves their cognitive functions
GARCINIA : This plant is useful for the lipid metabolism, it decreases its deposition in adipose tissue and regulates appetite. These actions are due to the presence of an organic acid, the hydroxycitric acid HCA, which is contained in the pericarp (peel) of the fruit and inhibits the liver's production of the enzyme ATP-CITRATE-LISASIS, responsible for the transformation of carbohydrates and proteins in fats. It promotes weight loss and reduction of fat cells (adipocytes). This drug is used in cases of overweightness, hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. It is also useful in case of low-calorie diets, to promote weight control and to calm nervous hunger.
CARNITINE : synthesized by our body in the liver and kidneys, it is composed of the amino acids Methionine and Lysine. It acts directly in the metabolism of fats: it allows the conversion of fatty acids into energy. It also intervenes to protect the cardiovascular system and increase cardiac contractility. It also increases blood levels of HDL, lipoproteins used to counter the increase in cholesterol in blood.
ARTICHOKE : Present in the Italian Pharmacopoeia XI edition, it acts as a CHOLERETIC (increases bile secretion) and as a hepatoprotector. Thanks to the presence of INULINE, a fiber useful in the regulation of blood sugar levels, it is used in case of DIABETES. It also has a lipid-lowering effect: on cholesterol, since it inhibits the enzyme responsible for cholesterol biosynthesis; and because it increases HDL, while reducing LDL. Bitter substances give the plant digestive properties, making it useful in case of fermentation, stomach pain, nausea, as well as acting, in synergy with inulin, as hypoglycemic agents.
COLINE and INOSITOLE : They are the constituents of LECITHIN and have synergistic activity, as well as similar properties. They play an important role in the metabolism of fats (triglycerides and cholesterol). An integration of these two elements is recommended in the case of liver problems, such as STEATOSIS (fat accumulation in the liver) commonly known as LIVER FAT, given their HEPATOPROTECTIVE action.
VITAMIN B6 : Our body uses this vitamin in many metabolic reactions that involve the metabolism of amino acids. It also intervenes in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as adrenaline and noradrenaline.
