Artichoke

ARTICHOKE

Botanical name: Cynara Scolymus                                      Habitat: Europe

Plant parts used: fresh leaves                                             Active ingredients and nutrients: cinarin, inulin, caffeic acid

Therapeutic properties: It acts as a COLERETIC (increases bile secretion) and as a hepatoprotector. It is titrated in the supplement at 2.5% in CHLOROGENIC ACID and thanks to the presence of INULIN, a fiber useful in regulating the level of sugar in blood, it is used in case of DIABETES. It also has a lipid-lowering effect: both on cholesterol, since it inhibits the enzyme responsible for cholesterol biosynthesis; and because it increases HDL, while reducing LDL. Bitter substances give the plant digestive properties, making it useful in case of fermentation, stomach pain, nausea, as well as acting, in synergy with inulin, as hypoglycemic agents.

For prevention and control of: HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA AND DYSLIPIDEMIA, HEPATOBILIARY DISORDER, DIABETES AND HYPERGLYCEMIA
