BLUEBERRY

Botanical name:  Vaccinium Myrtillus                             Habitat: Europe

Parts used: fruits (berries) and leaves                            Active ingredients and nutrients: tannins, sugar, pectin, myrtillin (coloring substance: anthocyanins)

Therapeutic properties: It contains many flavonoids, glycosides, tannins and vitamins (A, B, C). Blueberry, thanks to the action of  anthocyanic glycosides, promotes the regeneration of RODOPSIN, a protein that improves the sight quality. It is therefore used as a sight protector, but also for diabetic retinopathy and for the opacification of the crystalline lens. It acts in two other districts: on the gastrointestinal tract where it protects gastric and esophageal mucosa from acidity or inflammatory states and in case of diarrhea it works as an antibacterial agent; on the circulatory system where it acts to protect capillaries, in case of varicose veins, edema and hemorrhoids. A 2009 study by the University of Michigan showed that blueberry intake improves control of blood sugar levels

Useful in the control of syndromes: DIABETES AND HYPERGLYCEMIA; CIRCULATORY SYSTEM DISORDER; ACNE ROSACEA
