SCHISANDRA

Botanical name: Schisandra Chinensis                               Habitat: North-Eastern China, Manchuria, Japan 

Plant parts used:  bunches of dried fruits                           Active ingredients and nutrients: essential oil (citral, sesquicarpene, bisabolele, chamigrene, ylangene)

Therapeutic properties: It acts to protect the liver, in particular it counteracts the damage of liver cells (hepatocytes) and allows its regeneration. It acts in the central nervous system as a stimulant: it increases memory and the ability to concentrate; for this reason it can be used as a restorative in case of fatigue and psychophysical stress. About sight, it increases the visual field. 

CAUTION: Avoid taking this plant in case of therapy withglycoprotein P transporter drugs.
