This fragrance is a quintessential oriental floral with sophisticated citrus notes. In fact, both petitgrain essential oil and neroli essential oil are extracted from the bitter orange plant. The former is extracted from the fruit at the end of the flowers, while the latter is extracted from the flowers themselves. This combination not only brings out the fresh notes of vetiver and rose, but also contrasts with the earthy, bitter notes of nutmeg, emphasizing its presence. Guido Gozzano writes, "I see again the imaginary and fabulous horizons like the scenery, the calm harbor where sailors traded spices and rare woods…" The oriental inspiration for this fragrance has the contours of a woody, spicy, bitter spring, with a floral breeze, sweet with the first warmth and fresh in memory of the coolness of winter.
