This fragrance is a quintessential oriental floral with sophisticated citrus notes. In fact, Petitgrain essential oil and Neroli essential oil are both extracted from the bitter orange plant. The former from the fruit at the end of the flowers, the latter from the flowers themselves. This combination not only brings out the fresh notes of Vetiver and rose, but also contrasts with the earthy, bitter notes of nutmeg, emphasizing its presence. Guido Gozzano writes, "…I see again the imaginary and fabulous horizons like the scenery, the calm harbor where sailors traded spices and rare woods…" The oriental inspiration of this fragrance has the contours of a woody, spicy, bitter spring, with at the same time a flowery breeze, sweet with the first warmth and fresh in memory of the winter coolness.
